For 16 gang siden 1985 arrangeres det Games of Small States of Europe (GSSE), og i år er det Island som er vertsskap for lekene. Arrangøren ønsker noen nøytrale dommere til basketballkampene, og har nå forespurt NBBF om å ende en internasjonal dommer til Island i begynnelsen av juni. Valget falt på Viola Györgyi fra Trondheim.
Kriteriene for å være med i GSSE-lekene er at et land har færre enn 1 million innbyggere. Deltakere siden oppstarten i 1985 er følgende 9 land som også er med i IOC:
Andorra, Kypros, Island, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro og San Marino.
Nylig kom det en forespørsel fra det islandske basketballforbundet om NBBF kunne stille med en basketballdommer i disse lekene, og NBBFs dommerkomite har nå nominert FIBA-dommer Viola Györgyi fra Trondheim.
Györgyi reiser til Island direkte fra FIBA Europes dommerclinic i München som avsluttes 31. mai.

Fakta om GSSE: The Games of the Small States of Europe take place every two years, starting from the first Games which took place in San Marino in 1985.
The program of the Games includes six individual sports; athletics, swimming, judo, shooting, tennis and table tennis, and two team sports; basketball and/or volley ball. The Organizing Committee may add a maximum of two other Olympic Sports or one Olympic Sport and one non Olympic Sport, provided that these sports are widely spread in most of the participating countries and that the Executive Committee has given approval.
The Sports added to the Games 2015 are Artistic Gymnastics and Golf. This will be the first time Golf is one of the competing Sports at the Games. Volleyball and Beach Volleyball have been a part of the Games lately and are both included in the Games 2015.
